OVERVIEW
MDUK were reliant on physical on-premise servers which were coming to end of life and had reached their capacity. They had a requirement to refresh the technology, but preferred to move all their on-premise services into the cloud to improve reliability and reduce reliance on physical office locations. At the same time MDUK were looking to replace their current Avaya phone system and improve remote access.
PROCESS
Bunker carried out an extensive review of MDUK’s current IT system and practices then spent time discussing specific security needs. A new standard setup was piloted using Azure Active Directory for cloud identity and access management, Microsoft Intune and Microsoft 365 Business Premium. The combination of these services provided a security focussed machine build and user experience. Once piloted Bunker rolled this out to all MDUK users.
SOLUTION
SaaS backup was implemented to protect data stored on Office 365, including email, SharePoint files and Teams data. This solution can be configured to retain data for as long as MDUK require.
Bunker deployed a Teams PSTN system with dial plans, providing unlimited calls both locally and internationally for all MDUK users. This allowed all users to have a UK based landline number which could be answered from their Teams Windows or mobile apps wherever the user is located. The integration of Microsoft Teams Conferencing also meant that MDUK could end costly third-party conferencing contracts.
