OVERVIEW
Consulting Point moved their emails to Office 365 in 2014 and their file shares a few years later. However they had suffered subsequent data loss incidents from both human error and malicious actions. As a recruitment firm, it is crucial for Consulting Point to keep track of promises made to clients and current/former employees, as often renumerantion can come months or even years after a position is filled and can sometimes be disputed.
Although Consulting Point had used Office 365 for some time, deleted data is not always retrievable, particularly as Office 365 only operate a 90 day recycle bin. So if data loss is not detected within those 90 days the data is unrecoverable.
PROCESS
Bunker discussed Consulting Point’s requirements, how long they wanted to retain data for and what data specifically was required. Once their requirements were fully scoped, bunker implemented the backup of Consulting Point’s Office 365 data.
SOLUTION
Datto SaaS Backup was implemented which integrates directly with Office 365 and backs up email, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams data three times a day to Datto’s own data centre, keeping separation with the core Microsoft infrastructure.
These backups can be kept and searched for an indefinite period, then quickly exported or restored to Office 365 where data loss has been identified.
