Environmental Policy

At Bunker we are aware that the continuous growth in the world’s population supported by economic models and consumption patterns that lead to climate change, the accelerated degradation of natural resources and biodiversity and the inherent risks to public health, require responsible actions from companies as well as proactive and differentiating strategies capable of reversing these trends, promoting respect for the environment and the development
of a society based on sustainable consumption patterns.

At Bunker, we are committed to minimizing our environmental footprint and actively managing our impact on the environment as an integral component of our business strategy.

Our sustainability efforts take many forms, including increasing resource efficiency, taking proactive measures to ensure environmentally responsible practices, and promoting environmental awareness.

This policy statement serves to communicate to our stakeholder groups the components of our environmental management programme, serves as a lens to create projects and initiatives, and establishes a foundation to develop key performance indicators to ensure those initiatives are in line with programme and organisational priorities.

1. Policy Statement

We want our services and products to be part of a sustainable society, to achieve this we are committed to:
The following four pillars of our environmental management programme which will guide our strategies, actions and decisions on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting environmentally sustainable business practices.

Environmental governance:
Establish and maintain environmental governance and accountability procedures, integrated with other corporate governance, to commit to and sustain adherence with environmental best practices

Social responsibility engagement:
Provide employees with opportunities to get involved in promoting environmental awareness and stewardship through education, volunteerism, and community partnerships

Environmental impact reduction:
Reduce the organisation’s impact on the environment through the development and deployment of policies, practices, and initiatives, focused on environmental criteria material to our business operations.

Environmentally responsible business practices:
Bunker will integrate environmentally conscious strategies and considerations into existing business practices, accounting for and actively managing the environmental impact of our business operations.

We are committed to developing and implementing initiatives with focused strategies and tactics to meet the goals of each pillar. As part of the Environmental Impact Reduction pillar, the following priorities ensure that our efforts are focused on the environmental criteria most material to our business operations – minimizing our environmental footprint and maximizing the impact of our actions. These priorities will be evaluated regularly by our non profit partner organisation, EnvironmentPlus International to ensure we are focused on the most material, pertinent environmental criteria:
• Minimising greenhouse gas emissions related to business travel and office operations
• Purchasing renewable energy where feasible
• Reducing physical footprint through reductions in rentable square foot of office space
• Reducing consumption and promoting recycling of consumables, including paper
• Reducing consumption and promoting recycling of electronic equipment

Biodiversity
We will contribute to reducing the loss of biodiversity, promoting the mitigation hierarchy, and in the long term aim for a net benefit in terms of biodiversity. We will contribute to deepening scientific knowledge of biodiversity and ecosystems namely through partnerships with specialist non-profit partners such as EnvironmentPlus International, The BumbleBee Alliance, Wyvern School, Social Justice International and other environmental and social impact
organisations who make positive contributions to the community.

We will publish objectives and targets to ensure transparency with stakeholder groups. We will create benchmarks and monitor performance in order to drive continuous improvement and ensure success of each initiative and the pillar(s) it supports – including strategies to provide effective communication to all relevant stakeholder groups.

We will also periodically assess the efficacy of each initiative and pillar with organisational leadership - with a focus on ensuring that the organisation is strategically aligned to meet its environmental, social and governance objectives.

Carbon Reduction Plan

Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Bunker is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2027.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured. Bunker has not previously assessed or reported emissions, and this will be our first reporting to be used as our baseline

Baseline Year: 2021 (31st August 2021 – 30th September 2022)

EMISSIONS TOTAL

Scope 1 - emissions are direct greenhouse gas emissions that occur from sources that are controlled or owned by the reporting organisation. e.g., emissions associated with fuel combustion in boilers, furnaces, vehicles.

0.00 tCO2e

(Emissions from combustion of fuel for transport purposes have been included in Scope 3 calculations)

Scope 2 - emissions are indirect greenhouse gas emissions associated with the purchase of electricity, steam, heat, or cooling. They are accounted for by the reporting organisation as they are a result of the organisation’s energy use 1.13 tCO2e
Scope 3 - emissions include all sources not within an organisation’s scope 1 and 2 boundary. Scope 3emissions often represent the majority of an organisation’s total greenhouse gas emissions (Included Sources) 19.94 tCO2e
Total Emissions 21.07 tCO2e

Current Emissions Reporting (this is the same as the baseline as it has just been completed)

Emissions Reduction Targets

In  order  to  continue  our  progress  to  achieving  Net  Zero,  we  have  adopted  the  following  carbon reduction targets. We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 0tCO2e by 2027. This is a reduction of 100%Carbon Reduction ProjectsCompleted Carbon Reduction InitiativesBunker has now drafted a comprehensive Carbon Reduction Plan which is attached to this form. The   following   environmental   management   measures   and   projects   have   been   completed   or implemented since the 2021baseline–please see our attached Carbon Reduction PlanThe carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes equate to 0tCO2e, a 0% reduction against the 2021baseline and the measures will be in effect when performing the contractPlease Note:As we have just completed the calculations for our baseline we are now working towards reducing our emissions further but will not be in a position to provide further data until a period of time has passed and data has been secured and analysed. Emissions reduction targets To progress towards achieving Net Zero by 2027,five years from now, we are ensuring that we:

  • Actively promote carbon reduction initiatives
  • Review our Scope 3 emissions, data and reporting to achieve impact
  • Actively fund broader carbon offsetting initiatives
  • Launch our new Environmental Policy which outlines our commitment to minimising the negative environmental impact of our activities. We also share our commitments through our wider Corporate Social Responsibility statement which will be published on our website

Our baseline at present has set a carbon intensity factor of 1.62 tonnes per employee. This allows us to track our reduction initiatives over time as our company grows.

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

Carbon Removal Initiatives

  • We've partnered with EnvironmentPlus International supporting a variety of environmental projects and programmes in the communities in which we work.
  • Bunker willplant a tree for every new employee, event registration, and cloud customer, using such a structured approach ensures consistency.
  • Bunkerwill be investing in high quality certifiedoffsetting programmes to offset residual emissions, prioritising offsetting programmes which enhance the existing native ecology,
  • Bunker is committed to increasingbiodiversity, creating social value and economic value for local communities where we operate, such as working with The BumbleBee Alliance on a variety of bee species related projects and programmes.
  • As an EnvironmentPlusInternational -Quality Mark holder we work towards meeting the United Nations Environmental Goals in our organisation which provides a clear focus and a respected internationally recognised set of standards which are focussed, transparent, easy to understand and benchmarked.
